The Valkyries debut season at Chase Center placed them in the iconic 18,000+ seat arena in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood, where they share the court with the Golden State Warriors. Designed by Populous with an emphasis on craft, material expression, and player experience, the Valkyries Locker Room serves as the team’s home-day headquarters. Within 6,800 thoughtfully planned square feet, every element from training and recovery spaces to the player lounge and dining areas was built with purpose and precision. Dedicated coaching, development, and medical suites reflect an architectural approach rooted in performance, wellness, and quality. The striking V-shaped geometry of the locker room expands on the Valkyries' identity, translating the arcs and cables of the Bay Bridge from the logo into a bold interior. This concept feeds a sculptural gesture throughout the space, echoing wings in flight and reinforcing the team’s culture of unity and strength. Across the Bay, the reimagined Valkyries Practice Facility in Oakland transforms the former Warriors headquarters into a state-of-the-art environment tailored specifically for the franchise. The 31,800-square-foot complex is designed with professional-grade craftsmanship and durability, providing players and coaches access to elevated training environments for the team. Two full-size courts anchor the facility, complemented by 17 additional baskets for drills and shooting work. The high-performance spaces include a player-centric locker room, weight room, training suite, and separate player and family lounges. Each was crafted with meticulous attention to comfort, flow, and functionality. Beyond its role as a world-class performance center, the facility is designed to serve the broader community. It will host youth programming, camps, and clinics, extending the Valkyries’ commitment to Oakland and inspiring the next generation through access and opportunity.
