Sacred Heart - Student Life & Science Center
Description:
Founded in 1898, Sacred Heart is a Roman Catholic, independent, coed, college preparatory day school for students preschool through grade 12. Mission Bell provided extensive millwork and casework that helped this new environmentally-friendly building earn its Platinum LEED rating – the highest LEED rating a building can receive from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). This project was named a winner of California Construction magazine’s 2009 Best of Awards for design and construction in the K-12 education category for Northern California.
Specialty items Mission Bell provided include Bamboo veneer – base, caps, tops and benches in the Great Hall Exterior FSC Certified Redwood Benches. Receptionist Desk with Bamboo die wall and Paperstone work surface and transaction top with stainless standoffs. Vertical Grain Bamboo veneer paneling laid up on Formaldehyde free MDF substrate in the Auditorium Assembly Hall, on low walls, and on the ceiling paneling. FSC Certified Maple handrail. Extensive plastic laminate casework in copy/fax, Storage and Health Rooms.
